These pictures come from Jack, an incoming first grader. He and his family went to Nags Head North Carolina to visit even more family, including four cousins. Nags Head is about 260 miles from Hollywood Elementary School. Jack is reading a great nonfiction book about all the different ocean species they found while visiting Nags Head. 
While in Nags Head Jack and his family found lots of moon jellies, or jellies without tentacles. Once cool thing that they read about and then found on the beach were Lighting Whelk egg cases. Jack and his family dried them out and opened them up to find tiny little whelk shells just starting out. They had never seen them on the shore until this trip. Jack and his family thought it was great to read and learn about them on their trip.It sounds like Jack and his family had a great trip. I can't wait to hear more.
