Public Library Newsletter and Much Much More!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far, I know I am.

A really neat thing that our Public Library does is to send out a monthly newsletter.  You have to sign up for it, but it is full of wonderful information.  Here is a link to the July Newsletter.  Another neat service that the Public Library has is called Next Reads.  The services lets you pick what type of books you are interested and each month they send you reading list right to your inbox.  I have signed up for this and have found many  new to me books/series that have been great.  It always comes at the right time, when I'm looking for a new book. To sign up for this service visit the Pubic Library site and click on Online Services.  By doing that it takes you to a new page, which you can see by clicking here.  Then look under the Literature heading and then click on NextReads, which will take you to the form to fill out.  When you have time really take a look at the resources offered on this page.  There are a lot of great resources available to the public.

Don't forget to bookmark the Public Library's Kid's Book Blog.  This is a readers advisory blog for children's picture books. Each entry features a cover image and blurb about the book, as well as special interest labels.  Each of the children's librarians take turns selecting a book and writing a post about it for the blog.  I've got it bookmarked, and refer to it often when I'm looking for some new books.

Hope those of you who signed up for the summer reading program are enjoying the program and doing a lot of reading.  Hope you are making progress towards your goal.

Happy Reading!!

HES Spirit Night at Leonardtown Public Library

Everyone is invited to join HES at the Leonardtown Public Library on June 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Students and their families are invited to the library to kick-start their summer reading by registering for Summer Reading Clubs, getting library cards, making a special craft, entering prize drawings, and of course checking out lots of great books to read.  This is a great opportunity for our HES students to get a jump start on their summer reading.  If you can't join us, please click here to sign up for the summer reading program!

Hope to see everyone there!
